Laser Hair Removal in Dorset
Never pick up a razor again. With our advanced IPL laser hair removal treatments, regular shaving, waxing, or threading will become a thing of the past.
What Is Laser Hair Removal?
When summer rolls around and the short sleeves come out, the hassle of dealing with body hair can make you want to hide away indoors. Luckily, there’s a better way.
At Illusion Laser Clinic, we specialise in permanent laser hair removal treatments for both men and women. We utilise the latest in Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) technology, which uses strong pulses of light to effectively stop the growth of unwanted hairs at the root. You’ll be left with ultra-soft, silky-smooth skin all year round, with all the confidence that comes with it.
Where Can Laser Hair Removal Be Used?
Laser hair removal is a cosmetic procedure that uses concentrated beams of light to remove unwanted hair. It’s a safe and effective method of removing hair from various areas of the body, including:
- Upper lip, chin, between the eyebrows, sideburns, and beard
- Legs
- Bikini line
- Arms and underarms
- Back and shoulders
- Abdomen
The procedure is typically done in a series of treatments, spaced several weeks apart, to achieve the best results. To minimise risks or complications, it’s important to have the procedure done by a trained and licensed professional.
How Does Laser Hair Removal Work?
Laser hair removal allows you to prevent the growth of each hair deep underneath the skin, without the need for downtime. The process involves just three simple steps:
Lumenis LightSheer® QUATTRO™
The Next Generation in Hair Removal Technology
We perform our hair removal treatments using the Lumenis LightSheer® QUATTRO™ workstation. Powered by two advanced technologies and featuring both 805 nm and 1060 nm wavelengths, it can remove hair safely, effectively, and with minimal discomfort.

Laser Hair Removal FAQs
Our laser hair removal in Dorset is not suitable if you are pregnant or taking certain medication; contraindications will always be discussed during your consultation so we can ensure that you are safe to go ahead with sessions. We also cannot perform laser hair removal if the treatment area has been sunburnt.
While laser hair removal is not necessarily painful, it can be slightly uncomfortable. Many compare the sensation to being flicked with an elastic band; however, most of our clients get used to this quickly.
As lasers damage the hairs from the root, these follicles are unlikely to regrow. In some cases, you may find that follicles that were empty when you had your sessions have started to grow hair inside; this is why we recommend top-up treatments every year or so.
With laser hair removal, a patch test is required 48 hours before your treatment. Please book this in with our practitioners before booking your treatment. You can book both appointments at the same time.
After your sessions, your hair will not fall out immediately but will start to shed over the upcoming weeks. This will continue throughout your course as new hairs in the first stages of the growth cycle are targeted.
After your sessions, you may experience redness, itching and mild swelling in the treatment area. This is completely normal and will subside within a few days.
This will differ based on your chosen treatment area and hair type; however, we typically recommend between 6 and 8 sessions to achieve full results.
